This time it’s a techno-pop by Thomas Dalton entitled One of Our Submarines. Not my taste in music but it is about a submarine. The lyrics are below the fold. And I found this posted by Robert Cox, retired YNC(SS) {not sure if he was a master chief or senior chief but he was a submarine chief yeoman when he retired. Say we thank you Robert.} on Martini’s BBS.
One of our submarines is missing tonight
Seems she ran aground on manoeuvres
One of our submarines
A hungry heart
To regulate their breathing
One more night
the Winter Boys are freezing in their spam time
The Baltic moon
Along the northern seaboard
And down below
The Winter Boys are waiting for the storm
Bye-bye empire, empire bye-bye
Shallow water – channel and tide
And I can trace my history
Down one generation to my home
In one of our submarines
One of our submarines
The red light flicker, sonar weak
Air valves hissing open
Half her pressure blown away
Flounder in the ocean
See the Winter Boys
Drinking heavy water from a stone
Bye-bye empire, empire bye-bye
Shallow water – channel and tide
Bye-bye empire, empire bye-bye
Tired illusion drown in the night
And I can trace my history
Down one generation to my home
In one of our submarines
One of our submarines
One of our submarines
One of our submarines is missing tonight
Seems she ran aground on manoeuveres
One of our submarines

The lyrics are very poignant.
I went to Yahoo! to look for Martini’s BBS. I saw different sites about submarines and submariners. It’s a great place to learn about all of you, one by one, and together. I will certainly return. But I could’nt find where to say: “Thank you, Robert Cox.” This is all so new for me. I’m still not very smart with websites!

Myron
You’re doing just fine, as far as I can tell. We bought Mrs Myron one about 3 years ago and she never did learn to use it. But then she was diagnosed with PD less than a year later. That has certainly interfered with her learning new things.

Claudia, in Toronto.
Thanks for the encouragement. Three young men (my son and friends) have been helping a lot.
My best wishes to Mrs. Myron. It’s tough but with you, and Houston Medical Center, she must get all the attention she needs. I’ve been so impressed in 1962 with how far advanced your hospitals were.
