When we were on Baffin Island, my husband went with the Inuits to hunt narwhales for food and the ivory tusk. I would have nightmares until they would be back. I was told then that the narwhales ate only fish. It did not reassure me one bit!
This picture made me think of Jaws. I bet the guy did not smell very good when he returned to shore.

I used to have a flight that overnighted in Oxnard California. Some of the crews would rent kayaks and go on out and jaunt off the shores of Malibu. One weekend in 1989 I think it was, some young people, locals I think, went out in kayaks and never came back. They found her two days later, with large and obvious shark bites. They never found a trace of him. Sort of curtailed our “hey lets’ go play in the water” urge.
