Changing in time to Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses.
I put together this little video using images stolen borrowed from around the innarwebz and J.J. Cale’s song Hey Old Man.
Slacker internet radio. Have you tried it? This is a screenshot of the software player you can download. Click on it to make it a bit larger. They have about every genre you can imagine. I like the music selection a lot better than XM on line, which I get because of my dashboard navigation thingy. And the best part, Slacker is free. I’ve had it on for about 3 hours this morning and I’ve had to tolerate 3 very, very brief commercials. And no DJs, unlike XM. Try it, you’ll like it. Maybe. Click here to go there.
Here it is the last day of fall and the last day of hurricane season so how about some Keith Jarrett? Here’s his trio, Gary Peacock on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums, playing Autumn Leaves.
UPDATE: I was told via email that fall ends around Dec 20 so it’s still autumn. But it is the last day of hurricane season.
I was perusin’ the Dish program guide last week and saw a part of The Derek Trucks Band. I listened a few minutes and then set up a timer. Man, I’m glad I did. I had never heard these guys before and I love ‘em already. And Derek Trucks is one of the finest guitars I’ve heard. And I’ve heard a bunch of ‘em. So here for your listening pleasure is The Derek Trucks Band doing their version of Blind, Crippled or Crazy featuring vocalist Mike Mattison.
There was damn little to be admired about any of the characters but it was still a great show. Do you ever wonder what happened after Meadow walked into the restaurant? Sure you do.
Another one by Tommy Cox. Tommy spent many a month on various boats during his 20 year career as a Navy spook. In fact, he qualified on USS LAPON in 1968. If you know what I’m talking about you’ve probably heard Tommy. If you don’t know what a spook was/is in the Navy just rest assured they would ride the boats doing special chores. He mentions damn near every submarine hang out in the world in this one. He was giving a concert in Groton last year and he let Ken Johnson video the concert. And Ken is now working on making a DVD of the event. Below this video are links to the other songs he performed that day. These links were posted on Martini’s BBS by Don Ward. Enjoy.

He’s 14 year old Damian McGinty. A fine Irish lad who’s one of the 5 in Celtic Thunder. I just ordered the dvd. I’m just in awe of this kid. Click here for more Celtic Thunder on YouTube. And now here’s I’d Be Lost Without You.
It’s been a while since I posted a music video, hasn’t it? I just saw the link to this one on Martini’s BBS. Coincidently, I was watching Lightning in a Bottle, a blues program, the other day and John Fogerty was one of the players. Anyway, here’s Have you Ever Seen The Rain, kinda.
I’m sitting here listening to the tunes on my MP3 dingus, plugged into my Onkyo playing through the Polk SurroundBar. Damn it sounds good. Anyway, Gato Barbieri came on. I’m tellin’ ya, nobody plays belly rubbin’ music like Gato. Here for your listening (and other if you’ve a mind to) pleasure is Gato Barbieri’s Last Tango in Paris.
